About Malcolm

I came to this work through two paths that don't always travel together: education and lived experience.

For over a decade I've worked in schools — most recently as a Head of School — sitting with students who were struggling, families who were exhausted, and young people who felt like the system wasn't built for them. That work gave me a deep understanding of how learning differences, school avoidance, and academic pressure ripple through an entire family. It also showed me how rarely those students got the kind of support that actually fit them.

As an immigrant, I know firsthand what it means to navigate belonging in a new place — the quiet work of acculturation, the tension between where you're from and where you're trying to go, and the way cultural identity shapes how we ask for help and what we believe we deserve. That experience is part of how I show up for clients.

I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #22064), working under the supervision of Shannon Kennedy, LMFT #84822, at Syntropy Family Counseling.

My approach is warm, direct, and genuinely curious about you — not just your symptoms. I work with individuals of all ages navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, educational challenges, and cultural identity. Sessions are via telehealth, which means you can access support from wherever you are.

If any of this resonates, I'd love to connect.
